Csm War Devil

I have been told by a professional that choosing uefi mode in bios from csm mode in bios is safe. Apparently this is caused by uefi boot and compatability support module (csm) needs to be switched on to. Should i install it for booting in uefi or legacy (bios/csm) mode?
